Lamosa Tile of a Man Decorating Pottery, Framed

This vintage tile by Ladrillera Monterrey S.A. (Lamosa) of Mexico shows a seated man decorating a large piece of pottery. The tile is made of red clay and measures 6" square. It is housed in a Mexican chip carved wooden frame. Overall it measures 9 1/4" square. Great colors and design. The tile is in excellent condition. The frame has some shrinkage at the corners. The tile is unmarked but an identical example can be found on page 194 of the book "Colors On Clay, The San Jose Tile Workshops of San Antonio" by Susan Toomey Frost. Lamosa and San Jose shared designs and artists.
