Brocade Tiles by Moravian Pottery, Paisley Milk Weed Pods

Two Arts and Crafts tiles made by Henry Chapman Mercer's Moravian Pottery and Tile Works in Doylestown PA. The hand formed tiles measure about 5" x 2 3 3/4" and 5/8" thick. These brocade tiles were intended to be set into a stucco surface. The tiles are covered in a green engobe wash which allows the red clay to show through. Never set and unmarked they are in excellent condition with a couple of nicks on the edges.
