This vintage Arts and Crafts era tile panel was made by Solon and Schemmel Tile of San Jose California. It is comprised of three carved tiles that form a mosaic of a bowl of fruit. It measures 9 1/2" tall and 18 1/2" wide and 5/8" thick. The red clay gives the glazes a nice depth of color. The backs of the tiles are unmarked. Shown in the S & S catalog as 74-7
These tiles were made with superb workmanship and remain in excellent, unused condition with no chips, crack, or repairs. Imagine these installed over a stone or tile fireplace or maybe in a kitchen backsplash over the sink or stove. They would look equally great framed in iron or wood and hung anywhere.
