AETCO Tile of a Hawk

A small tile by the American Encaustic Tile Company, AETCO, of Zanesville Ohio of a red hawk with wings spread and outstretched talons. Measures 2 " square and 1/4" thick and made from a white faience clay turned black from the lack of oxygen in the kiln. Signed AETCO on the back. Great colors on an Arts and Crafts era tile. Excellent unused condition.
