Frey Art Pottery Lamp Arts & Crafts Hand Made Folk Studio
A heavy pottery lamp base, hand thrown and glazed in frothy blue colors. Three strap handle buttresses were made by slicing through the wet clay and pulling them outwards. The applied cap is pottery as well. No chips, cracks or repairs to the pottery. Retains original fittings. I suggest rewiring this. It is presently not working. Probably a broken wire somewhere. The pull chains on the sockets still have that distinctive click. I was told Frey was a small New Jersey studio potter in the first half of the 20th Century. Displays well with a Mission or North Carolina collection. Nearly 19" tall and 10 1/4" pottery portion.
