Mid Century Modern Chelsea Pottery Tile by Audrey Durnan Blue Sunflower

A rare and collectible hand decorated tile by Audrey Durnan from the Chelsea Pottery. The flower is glazed in blues and greens on a 9 3/4" square and 3/4" thick tile. It is signed on the lower right. The back is marked "Chelsea Pottery". This comes with a fitted hanger, so it is ready to display on your wall. It is in very good unworn condition with a flake on the upper right edge and another smaller flake on the left edge.

Audrey Durnan trained for four years as an artist at the Canterbury (England) College of Art. During the 1960s, she worked as a designer in London for the famous Chelsea Pottery. Chelsea Pottery’s production is now very collectible and her work is pictured in 20th Century Decorative British Tiles.
After seven years in London, Audrey moved to Vancouver Island and established her own pottery business. She now resides in Southern California.
