Mueller Mosaic Tile Co Arts & Crafts Fireplace Panel
A four tile panel for use above a fireplace c. 1910. made by Herman Mueller at the Mueller Mosaic Tile Company of Trenton New Jersey. The tiles measure nearly 6" square. The panel represents learning and knowledge. It shows a feather pen, ink well, paper and a book and candle stick in matte arts and crafts era glazes. These were reclaimed so there are some grinding marks on the back and some scattered chips. The last photo shows an example of one of the ways this panel can be installed. Or, it can be framed and hung in a library. Perfect design for a teacher or professor.
