Victorian Dog Portrait Tile by Hamilton
A late 19th century Victorian portrait tile of a hunting dog by the Hamilton Tile Works of Hamilton Ohio (1883 -1901) in an amber brown glaze. The dog's head is framed win a circle with oak leaves and acorns adorning the corners of the tile. It measures 6" tall and 6" wide. It appears to have always been used as a wall decoration. The edges are painted black and the back has an applied hanger loop. A little bit of chipping on the back edge is non viewing.
