North State Carolina Pottery Blue and White Mug Southern Highlanders

A nice hand turned ceramic mug by the North State Pottery of Sanford North Carolina. Double dipped in a white and blue glaze it measures 4 1/2" tall, 6 1/2" wide and 4 1/2" in diameter. It bears an uncommon ink mark "Hand made in America for Southern Highlanders Inc." It seems this mark was used for a retailer during North State's third period mark 1938-1959. It remains in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.

This pottery looks great in a mission, arts and crafts interior or in a country setting.
